The New York Fashion Week.

new-york-fashion-week-sept-2009-1

The Fashion Week in New York arrive in NYC in September. I love NY and I can´t wait. Regarding Fashion Week I found out that according to unofficial reports, upcoming collections will be shown from September 10 – 17 in 2009. Love japanese food!

Maybelline Cosmetics is launching a guide to NYC for fashion week but not sure when it is actually going live. But some of the top restaurant recommendations for fashion week are are the Standard Grill, Minetta Tavern, DBGB, Bond St Sushi, Izakaya Ten, Hotel Griffou.

As Italian we suggest: Babbo, Il Mulino and San Pietro

Japanese: Sushi Yasuda, Nobu, Megu

We was in NYC last week and we had a fantastic Italian meal at Valbella … great food, wine and wonderful experience overall! You can eat in the pastry kitchen and make your dessert with the pastry chef at the end of the meal! If what you are looking for is great food, good looking people, and amazing music, then you must stop by Bagatelle in the Meat Packing District. Great place!

Hope you have fun during Fashion Week. I may even check with our PR Department  and see if we have anything going on, or if they know of other stuff going on that week, and try to let you know (or you can send me a separate message, if you’d like!). In any case, I have a few suggestions for Restaurants for you…some of which may be on the pricey end, but should be good:

Japanese: Nobu (I think mentioned above already!), Sushiya, and Natsumi (Italian/Japanese “fusion”…really interesting!).

Italian: Zorzi, Ciao Bella, Scarlatto, Maria Pia, Zucchero e Pomodori, Lattanzi, etc.

If you want Japanese, there is no way around a visit at Masa.

The lower east side is a very cool neighborhood with some real gem Restaurants – stop by Falai on Clinton Street for great Italian and then Schillers (owned by the Pastis guys) for a great bar scene. For excellent Argentinian steak I recommend Azul also in the LES (and it is sooo reasonably priced).

For asian food i strongly recommend Matsuri its down the Martime Hotel (369 W 16th) St. and Buddakan (75 9th Ave)
DBGB is gona the place to be during the fashion week.

You should get a brunch at The Mercer Hotel (on corner of Mercer & Prince St), try the goat cheese omelette !

NoliTA (North of little Italy) it´s dowtown, between East Village and Soho.

Amazing how many nice and kind people are willing to help with fabulous tips. I will love to try those restaurants and nice places.

Usually a Cool Club called Bruno Jamais hosts fashion week events, parties and a dinner.
Its a small supper club on 81st and Madison – pretty cool area.

Don’t miss NY best Sushi at Yasuda!
