Portofino, the season is arriving.

First of all we wont to clear some doubt regarding which is the best time to arrive in Portofino Italy. The season start with the easter festivity and then closes at the end of September with the International Yacht Event in Genoa. So from April to end of September.

After this point every boutique is closed, hotels and lounge bar are closed.

We don’t suggest to arrive in Portofino from October to March.

So, this is the bets time to reserve Hotel in Portofino with good deals.
We want to remember You that with us you can book and pay directly the Hotel later.

We suggest the Piccolo Hotel, in front of a very romantic bay at 5 minutes by walk from Portofino and, even if it need to be refurbished the Hotel Nazionale. Pratically you open a window and you are on the most famous Piazzetta of the world.

If you are looking for luxury service at the right price, with good deals we suggest the 5-Star Excelsior Palace at the begin of Rapallo. You have big room with all confort, two splendid swimming pools, the one outside has an incredible view of the Portofino bay. There is also a Spa e Wellness center.

The only thing is that you are half hour from Portofino. So, if you have a car or a Limo this will be not a problem. You can spend also an half day to visit Rapallo.

So, we starting now to list some good advice from our Guests on where to eat.

1) Delfino Restaurant is more upscale, right near the harbor yachts.
Puny, one of the most famous, is in the main square, with a nice view but slightly less luxurious/stylish feeling…

2) I prefer one that is slightly up the main street (Via Roma) towards the hills, it has the Red and White checkered table cloths, (we think is the Pizzeria El Portico, ndr) It’s across from the Pucci store. It’s a real down-home place with great food, you can enjoy the Ligurian fare with some more local charm than the other places. Sorry that I forgot the name, if I go down there later I will be sure to ask.

3) Another idea is to take a Limo to Santa Margherita Ligure and check out Da u Batti. Order their scampi. Absolutely yummy. Typical ambience too and not the prices of Portofino. For precision we wont to advice you that the original Da U Batti is located in Portofino. The one in Santa Margherita Ligure is a copy. We agree that probably in Santa Margherita you can pay less, but the one in Portofino is very romantic.

Read the Review of the Da U Batti in Portofino.

4) 1st Pitosforo
2nd Hotel Splendido Mare
3rd Puny

5) Scampi at Da U Batti in Portofino are remarkable.

6) L’altro Eden or U batti in Santa Margherita Ligure
Puny or Magazine in Portofino.

7) Tripoli in Portofino is very good with right price!

8) I would strongly suggest you U Batti in Santa Margherita Ligure.
Very nice for “scampi”. Try it!

9) Portofino: Puni, Taverna dei Marinai or Tripoli
Santa Margherita Ligure: Da U Batti (not very nice place) but fantatastic “scamponi” (shrimps)

10) L’altro Eden in Santa Margherita Ligure,
La Taverna del Marinaio in Portofino.
Still, my favourite restaurant in Portofino is Concordia, I would rate it n.1, if it wasn’t for the location and the lack of view (it’s close to the hill, not on the “Piazzetta” and the place isn’t particularly charming, but the cuisine is outstanding, believe me).
In Portofino:
TRATTORIA TRIPOLI. Is a freind’s restaurant and is very very good!!

11) Try Puny in Portofino is the best!

12) Portofino – Splendido al Mare’s restaurant Chuflay
Santa Margherita – Da u Batti
Albisola (just b4 Savona going direction MC) – La Familiare
Bordighera (just b4 french/italian border) – Chez Louis and Magiarge
Ventimiglia (not in the town but next to the border crossing) – Baia Benjamin, avoid Balzi Rossi, very pretentious

13) Portofino:
Puny is great as is the restaurant at the Splendido ( i prefer the classic)…but my hands down favorite is off the beaten path: …you will have the meal of your life in a non-formal atmosphere.
