Comments and Advice from our Guests: Advice for Hotels: 2) I stayed at the Aldrovandi few years back and although it is quite nice it is a bit out of the way, behind the Borghese park… My favourite hotel is Hotel de Russie and I would request a garden view with the little balcony… their breakfast is wonderful! 3) I agree Hotel Inghilterra is the best if you can get one of the redone rooms. 4) Hotel Eden, amazing view from the rooftop. 5) If you wont to live a Dolce Vita week-end, go to the Excelsior Hotel in Via Veneto. Here the page to Check Rate for Hotels in Rome. Comments and Advice from our Guests: 1) I was there in October 2009. It is a really nice hotel based on a hill with a beautiful view on Rome. Check-in was very professional and friendly. I really recommend to book executive category cause you got many extras which you have to pay extra when you don’t. I stayed in the executive area on the 7th floor. Staff in the lounge was very competent and friendly. When you book executive you got free lounge access. In the lounge they serve delicious snacks whole day and you got free alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. You can also get your breakfast there, for example on one of the beautiful balcony with an amazing view on rome. There are also 2 outdoor pools inside a beautiful garden and one indoor pool. As executive guest you got also free access to the great wellness area. If you book a normal category, wellness area and lounge access cost extra but it’s really worth the money. There is also a free shuttle bus to the center of rome (every hour). Will definitely come back there.
Comments and Tips from our Guests: Rome: In Rome try with the Mozart Hotel or Stendhal Hotel…if you like you can go the the forum (oldstyle but with a beatiful view over Fori Romani and a wonderful terrace for having breakfast). In London try with the Hoxton Hotel (new Oxford Street, well connected by tube). London: In London near Piccadilly things will be either very pricy or very touristy. (Sorry, Francisco, but Thistle or Le Meridien would be like staying at Times Square!) I recommend the Sofitel or Park Lane Hotel – especially if you are going on business. Brown’s is a nice boutique hotel in the area, too. Otherwise, check Splendia.com for deals on boutique/SLH options. Have fun! Irina. PS: I am going to Rome as well in a couple of weeks and booked three hotels (to choose from) that I found good deals on through hotels.com – Eden, Empire Palace, and the Sofitel.
1) Lovely location off Piazza del Poppolo, garden great for chilling out and sipping prosecco. Spa is also open to non-residents. 2) Excellent Hotel, still. The mngr is not anymore Mr. Elsner but, thanks G., an intelligent and professional Mrs. Elena Bruno. Now the service is very good again, as it was in the very first years. Superbe gardens, worth even just a drink or a tea in. also the Spa is a little oasis in the crowd of the centre. 3) Best Hotel in Rome, good service, good everything and wonderful location. 4) Great Hotel + friendly and excellent service. Great location. The rooms are stunning. 5) Magnifique! 6) Already decadent and overstated but I guess you also come to Rome for that feeling. 7) Great and romantic ! 8) The most elegant hotel in Rome, if you like understated luxury. Unfortunately the rooms are not as good as the bar or the beautiful garden. 9) Very nice place ! 10) Magnificent building…so much so that they really don’t bother much about the service! Overpriced even by Roman standards! 11) I don’t agree, overprized, disappointing spa, bar closes at 1.00 pm, unfriendly staff – just the breakfast and the restaurant in the garden is fantastic 12) Mr. Elsner ( the manager ) is doing a great great job.
Personally, I always stay at Hotel Eden, few minutes from Trinità de’ Monti and Villa Borghese. It is much more than a luxury hotel, it is the “home” The best one is DE RUSSIE in Via del Babbuino, you have every things by your hotel. I would have a look at Hotel Inghilterra. It is right in the center below the Spanish steps so you do not have to spend a lot of time walking up the hill!. Just make sure you get one of the new rooms. I have seen them and they are beautiful. I did not enjoy Hotel de Russie last time I was in Rome and I generally like Rocco Forte hotels. Stay in any hotel near Via Veneto…. its a beatiful street, and its walking distance from the Fontana di Trevi, it has wonderful restaurants and bars, and its also very close to the Piazza di Spagna, where most of the shooping is.
Comments: Nice art deco hotel, friendly staff, highly recommended Oustanding service and handsome restaurant. Quiet location but close to the city center. Just stayed there got a rate of 190 per night (via portofino world web site) and it was well worth it although the walls were a little thin (not our problem – hahhahaa). The rest of the hotel and service is off the shizzle for rizzle. Check it. Charming contemporary art deco boutique hotel at the edge of the Borghese Gardens but somewhat out of the way (an advantage & disadvantage depending on the situation) Cute hotel, but a little far from the centre… Big comfortable rooms and you can get good rates (approx euro 250) through amex Hotel Lord Byron Book the Hotel Byron or other luxury hotels in Rome. Portofino World, a world apart.
