What happen in Venice Italy in these days around the amazing Film Festival 2009.

The Danieli and the Gritti Palace are both offering a dining experience with at cinematic twist. At Restaurant Terrazza Danieli lunch and dinner “Pellicola di Seta” menus take inspiration from movies of the Far East. Club del Doge on the other hand is proposing lunch and dinner menus inspired after the Italian Dream movie theme. (photo above Eva Mendez)

A further must-see during the Film Festival is the Venice Historical Regatta along the Grand Canal taking place on the afternoon of 6 September – we’re offereing the opportunity for visitors to enjoy the spectacle over a long lunch at one of our Grand Canal terrace restaurants such as our own Club del Doge. If you are visiting the festival we hope you have a wonderful experience.

Hey guys, for something thats actually Fun,
try the BBar to the Bauer Hotel,
its probably going to be the most happening thing for the after-screening scene…

I will be attending the festival 2 – 7 and will be staying at the Excelsior (although every year of my childhood included a stay at either the des Bains, Danieli or the Gritti – I actually had a fabulous week during my Luna di Miele at the Gritti :) and am very much looking forward to dining at least once at each one during my stay!

This year Stella Events has created the “Quintessentially – Azimut Win Win” Terrace opposite the Casinò and will be hosting social events from morning until late into the night. It also has a restaurant and a late night bar open to the public wishing to lunch or dine with the celebrities and Gala dinners are planned for the evenings of 3rd and 6th of September on the terrace.

As well as all the parties there are also some interesting cultural celebrations taking place during the festival with the Venice Jazz Club in Dorsoduro hosting a concert dedicated to Miles and Trane tonight On the 6th the Historical Regatta takes place on the Grand Canal 6th or you could take in La Traviata at La Fenice Opera House from 6th -19th Sept. For those looking for a viewing point for the Regatta we’d be happy to welcome you to enjoy the Regatta over a late lunch at Club del Doge.

We hope you enjoy the festival and all the parties it brings!
